why do pirates wear eye patches
Today we will see why do pirates wear eye patches. Some people will think they are wearing for fashion or they don't have a eye, but both the reason are false. Before that people must know how the human eyes works according to environment. When the direct light passes through the eye the pupil of the eye will shrink, when the person go to a darker place the pupil will expands to collect the light. The pupil is controlled by a muscle. This process is called adaptation. This adaptation will take at least 15 to 20 seconds. The main reason why pirates wear eye patches because during the day time the opened eye's pupil will be shrinked whereas the closed eye's will be expanded. So when they goes to darker side they will shift the patch to other eye, so that they can see everything without delay of 20 seconds. The eye patch is working as natural night vision.
